Immersion Update: New Animations, Camera Work & Full-Game Polish!

Orevyn here with an update we're incredibly excited to share with you all.
Since we first released the prologue, we've been poring over your feedback and working tirelessly, not just on what comes next, but on improving the current experience. While the story and dialogue have always been the heart of the project, we felt the visual presentation wasn't doing them justice. At times, it could feel a little... static.
We wanted you to feel the tension in Helena's office, not just read it. We wanted you to notice Laura's discomfort, or Sophie's fragile composure. So, we've dived back into the code for the Prologue and Act 1 to give them a complete overhaul of visual dynamism and polish.
And today, we're proud to present the results!
What's Changed? A Look at the New Experience
This update is all about making every moment count, using the camera, characters, and sound design to enhance the narrative.
- Characters Breathe! No more cardboard cutouts. We've implemented a subtle but game-changing breathing animation on all characters. It's a small detail, but it makes them feel incredibly more alive and present in the scene. The difference is night and day!
- Cinematic Camera & Focus: The camera is no longer a passive observer. During moments of high tension, key dialogue, or when a character takes control of the conversation, the camera will now smoothly zoom in on them. This not only focuses your attention but exponentially increases the dramatic impact. Furthermore, when a character zooms in, they are now brought to the front layer (zorder), ensuring they always visually own the spotlight.
- Character Movement & Staging: Characters no longer just pop in and out of existence. They now walk on and off screen, making the staging feel more natural and deliberate. We've also fine-tuned their default positions to prevent any awkward sprite clipping at the bottom of the screen, ensuring they always look grounded.
- Impact Effects & Deeper Sound Design: A punch, a revelation, a moment of shock... you'll now feel it. We've refined and added effects like shake and hpunch, and synchronized dozens of new sound effects (footsteps, doors, the rustle of clothing...) for total immersion.
What This Means For You
It means a more immersive, polished, and professional-feeling game. The story you love is now wrapped in the dynamic presentation it deserves.
If you've played the prologue before, we wholeheartedly invite you to experience it again—it will feel like a brand-new game. If you're new, you're jumping in at the perfect time!
